Human-centered design (HCD) for social innovation – Project based course by +Acumen and Ideo.org. This was a team project, and I have had the privilege of working alongside Daria Lanz, Scott Richards, Juliana Loh and David Drucker as my team members for 9 weeks.
The goal of this course was to learn and master the 4 steps of the human-centered design process to create innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
This course had pre-crafted real world design challenges and an option to choose your own personal challenge as a team. As a team, we decide the following personal challenge:
How might we encourage people in Vancouver to be further involved in their communities?
We worked hard as a team throughout each step/phase of the process – Inspiration, Ideation, Prototyping and Implementation. We did research and conducted interviews in the Inspiration phase, gained insights and “How Might We” questions from this research in the Ideation phase, created storyboards and prototypes (Prototyping phase) and created an action plan and high-res prototype in the Implementation phase.
